Valve burst near Gono Bhaban causes gas pressure drop in some parts of Dhaka
Several areas in Dhaka are facing low gas pressure or no supply after a valve burst caused gas leaks in front of Gono Bhaban on Mirpur Road.”
Titas Gas, in a press release this morning, said that several valves in the distribution network have been closed to repair the leakage caused by a burst of four-inch diameter valve in front of Gono Bhaban.
As a result, severe low gas pressure is prevailing in Dhanmondi, Mohammadpur, Shyamoli, New Market, Hazaribagh, Gabtoli, and surrounding areas.
It also said work is underway to replace the valve as quickly as possible.
The Titas Gas authorities expressed sincere regret for the temporary inconvenience to customers, the press release said.
Earlier last night, fire was seen burning on the street from the leakage. Vehicles were seen moving through the area despite the risk.
