Who's running from whom?
It seems from your staff correspondent's last page report (TDS June 4) on the matter that the reality is reverse. It was the police who were running from the MP, and not the other way round! The Jamaat-e-Islami MP concerned joined parliament, and even addressed a rally! The police's reason for not arresting him was that he was not in his constituency! Perhaps the new police orders are that they can only arrest MPs from their constituency, and never when they are addressing their voters, since they are then on political duty. The police deserve a “Mud Medal” for following their latest standing orders.
