Gaza flotilla: Turkey issues arrest warrant for Netanyahu
Turkey has sought an international arrest warrant for Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu accusing him of “genocide” linked to Israel’s interception of an aid flotilla for Gaza, the justice minister announced yesterday.
Israel’s interception of the flotilla carrying some 430 activists in May sparked an international outcry. France, Italy and Australia have also launched judicial proceedings.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces shot dead a Palestinian man yesterday in the city of Jenin, in the north of the occupied West Bank, with the military saying he had attempted to stab a soldier.
In a separate incident in the southern West Bank, Israeli settler gunfire killed a 17-year-old.
