VW Passat named European Car of the Year
The Volkswagen Passat beat six other vehicles to become Europe's 2015 Car of the Year. It's the third time in six years that the region's biggest carmaker, Volkswagen, has won the title.
Volkswagen rolled out new versions of the mid size Passat lineup in 2014, part of the automaker's effort to become the world's biggest carmaker by the end of the decade. The Golf compact, VW's best-selling model, won the Car of the Year title in 2013, and its Polo subcompact won in 2010.
