Du Plessis to feature in Tamim's live chat

Star Online Report

In his continued attempts to keep sports fans entertained by hosting live video chats with other Bangladesh cricketers, Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal has come up with a surprise by announcing that his next guest will be South Africa captain Faf du Plessis.

The episode will be streamed live on both Tamim's Facebook page and his Youtube channel on Wednesday at 10:30 pm Bangladesh time.

In his previous five live interactions the left-handed opener has brought different guests, both current and former national cricketers, for each episode.

After streaming the first two sessions with wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah respectively on Instagram, Tamim made the shift to Facebook and Youtube with an episode featuring former Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza moved the show to his Facebook page and Youtube channel. Pacers Taskin Ahmed and Rubel Hossain followed in the next episode and Tamim then turned back the clock with an episode featuring former national stars Khaled Mahmud, Habibul Bashar and Naimur Rahman.

It was learned that the 31-year-old is expected to have a couple of more live interactions with the current and former Bangladesh cricketers. According to sources, Tamim is also planning to bring in a few more international cricketers after the chat with Du Plessis on Wednesday.

Tamim, albeit describing himself as not very active on social media, had started his live video chat shows on May 2 to keep the fans entertained with inside stories and anecdotes at a time when all sporting activity has come to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic.
