Kohli asks for understanding and togetherness during Eid

During a riveting talk with Bangladesh's Tamim Iqbal in a Facebook live meet, India captain Virat Kohli wished everyone in Bangladesh a happy Eid and asked for togetherness during tough times, with coronavirus affecting everyone and confining people indoors.

"Virat bhai, Eid is coming so would you like to wish the people of Bangladesh Eid Mubarak?" Tamim asked Kohli at the end of the show.

Kohli's press conferences always showcase his clarity of thought and it was no different this time as the India captain asked for people from all over the world to stop looking at each other differently and weather the current storm by being compassionate and understanding of each other's situations during the pandemic.

"I would like to wish everyone a happy Eid. Everyone is spending time with their families and we have to enjoy that. The time we are going through should be a memorable time spent with family. Also, I would like to wish that everyone can celebrate this Eid with a smile despite all the challenges," he said while wishing everyone.

He pointed out that people need to be understanding during the ongoing pandemic, since everyone is trying to fight the virus.

"Hopefully things will become alright. Obviously, we will all pray together. I don't think it's a time where we look at each other differently and say things like 'this is happening there, or that is happening there' because everyone is at the same level during these times. Everyone is fighting it," Kohli concluded.
