No T20s as WI confirm Bangladesh tour
Cricket West Indies (CWI) have confirmed the tour of Bangladesh but there will not be any T20 matches during the tour, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) informed via a press release today.
The West Indies are due to arrive in January 10 and following one-week quarantine will play a one-day warm-up match at BKSP before they take on the Tigers in the first of three ODIs on January 20.
Following the three-match ODI series on January 25, Windies will play a four-day warm-up game at Chattogram's MA Aziz Stadium before the two-Test series.
Initially, the plan for the series was to have two T20s, three ODIs and three Tests. There had been discussions between the two boards regarding the length of the tour with the quarantine protocols putting strain on players' mental health during a long tour and the boards decided to drop the T20s in favour of the longer formats.
The tour is set to be Bangladesh's first international series of any kind amid the coronavirus pandemic.
