Renowned first-class match referee Siddiky passes away
First-class match referee Hemayet Ahmed Siddiky breathed his last in Dhaka today evening after suffering from multiple organ failure at the age of 68. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) expressed condolences through a media release at the passing away of the former cricketer.
"The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) expresses profound sadness at the passing away of first-class Match Referee Hemayet Ahmed Siddiky who breathed his last in Dhaka today evening. Siddiky, who had been undergoing treatment, succumbed to multiple organ failure. The Board extends deepest sympathies to the family of Hemayet Ahmed Siddiky and prays for the salvation of his soul," read the media release.
Siddiky, who officiated in domestic first-class and List A competitions for two decades, made his name while playing for Victoria Sporting Club in the Dhaka League.
