Shakib returns to the country
Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan returned to the country today after having departed five months ago for United States. He is currently in self-isolation at his residence and will be gearing up for practice with his ban coming to an end on October 28.
He was blessed with a second child back in April and had been spending time with his family back in USA. The cricketer landed in Dhaka at around three o'clock in the morning by Qatar Airways flight.
Shakib is expected to get tested for coronavirus soon and if he turns out to be negative, he will be able to start his training back at BKSP. Whether he will have to quarantine for 14 days before starting practice is unclear at the moment.
Shakib was banned last year by the ICC from all forms of cricket for failing to report corrupt approaches.
Bangladesh are gearing up for the Sri Lanka Test tour. Earlier, BCB president Nazmul Hassan mentioned that Shakib will join the Tigers in their tour of Sri Lanka. As the three-Test tour of Sri Lanka is slated to begin from October 24, the BCB president remained hopeful of getting the premier all-rounder's services from the second Test.
