Shakib tests negative for coronavirus
Bangladesh star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan tested negative for coronavirus today after the cricketer had undergone the test at his residence on Thursday.
It was learnt from sources close to his family that Shakib's coronavirus test came out to be negative.
Shakib, who is currently serving a ban imposed by the ICC last year in October, had made plans to start practicing on his own at BKSP after returning to the country. That, however, depended on him testing negative for coronavirus.
And following his negative result for coronavirus today, the premier all-rounder is now all clear to start his much-needed practice at BKSP to stage a comeback to competitive cricket.
The ace all-rounder returned to the country from the United States after five and a half months on Wednesday to begin his journey towards resuming his cricketing career.
Shakib's ban comes to an end on October 28 and he will be available for the Bangladesh team from the day after. Bangladesh are scheduled to tour Sri Lanka for a three-Test series, starting from October 24. Shakib is expected to join the Tigers from the second Test of the tour.
