Taskin shines again
Pacer Taskin Ahmed came up with yet another brilliant bowling display on the first day of their second two-day match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium today.
The right-armer, playing for Ryan Cook XI, returned figures of three for 42 in 11 overs that helped his team restricting Ottis Gibson XI to 248 for eight in 72 overs before stumps.
Taskin started off brilliantly as he removed opener Saif Hassan (7 off 20) and Najmul Hossain Shanto (2 off 13) inside 10 overs. After the initial jolt provided by Taskin, Ottis Gibson XI were revived by an 80-run third-wicket stand between Imrul Kayes and Mahmudullah Riyad.
Imrul, who scored a team high of 93-ball 59, was later removed by Taskin in the 32nd over. Mahmudullah scored a 116-ball 56 before falling prey to Mohammad Saifuddin in the 46th over. Liton Das, who struggled at the beginning after coming to bat at number five, also had a decent outing with the bat as the right-hander scored 44 runs off 66 deliveries.
