Williamson next in conversation with Tamim

Star Online Report

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, one of the most respected cricketers in the world, will be Bangladesh ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal's next guest on his Facebook live series of conversations with current and former cricketers.

The episode will be streamed live on Tamim's Facebook page on May 21 at 3:00pm (Bangladesh time). It will also be available on Tamim's Youtube channel.

Williamson, one of the best all-format batsmen in the game, is known to be one of the most sporting cricketers, as evidenced by his philosophical reaction when New Zealand lost a thrilling World Cup final to England last year after both the match and the Super Over ended in a tie.

The Bangladesh cricket team and their New Zealand counterparts are also tied by a tragic happening that took place in Christchurch on March 14, 2019, when the Bangladesh team bus -- in the middle of a tour of the country -- narrowly avoided a mosque shooting that claimed the lives of 51 people. Both Tamim and Williamson were involved in the series and were scheduled to play in the tour-closing third Test, which was eventually cancelled in the wake of the tragedy.

Tamim has been entertaining cricket fans with his wide-ranging conversations with Bangladeshi and foreign cricketers, both currently playing and former stars.

In his most recent episode, on Tuesday night, Tamim's Facebook live chat featured former Bangladesh cricketers Akram Khan, Minhazul Abedin and Khaled Masud, with Pakistan fast-bowling legend Wasim Akram dropping in for a brief and entertaining cameo.

Tamim had started his live chats with Bangladesh teammate Mushfiqur Rahim on May 2, before hosting the likes of Mahmudullah Riyad, former Bangladesh ODI skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Rubel Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, former players Naimur Rahman, Habibul Bashar and Khaled Mahmud and, most recently among teammates, Mominul Haque, Soumya Sarkar, Liton Das and Taijul Islam.

On May 13, he hosted his first foreign guest in South Africa captain Faf du Plessis, and followed it up with Indian batting giants Rohit Sharma on May 15 and Virat Kohli on May 18.
