The Dhaka First Division Cricket League begun under unprecedented circumstances as three of the five matches saw walkovers. Four clubs have been automatically relegated as they did not show up for their respective matches.

Partex Sporting Club, Gazi Tyres Cricket Academy, Kalabagan Krira Chakra and Amber Sporting Club were the four clubs that will be relegated.

"Yes, four clubs have been relegated due to walkovers. Now if someone wants to participate later, that's a separate issue as they will have to provide letters but they can't return throguh normal procedure," a CCDM official told The Daily Star.

Dhaka United Sporting Club got full points against Gazi Tyres at BKSP 3 while Baridhara Dazzlers ran winners after Partex Sporting did not show up.

At BKSP Ground 4, neither Kalabagan nor Amber showed up. At Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Bangladesh Police defeated Old DOHS by eight wickets while Dhanmondi Sports Club were playing Lalmatia Club at Silicon City Ground when this report was file.

There are five matches scheduled for Monday and it is expected that at least four more clubs will hand over walkovers. The BCB is contemplating a separate tournament with players who have missed out on the ongoing tournament due to clubs' decision to not participate in domestic leagues.

On Saturday, at least 50 players from eight absentee clubs and beyond staged a human-chain protest at Gate 2 of SBNCS, citing Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) election rigging and other disputes which led to the conflict between the BCB and 44 Dhaka-based rebel clubs from various leagues.
