The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Monday announced that the upcoming Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League 2025–26 season is expected to begin on May 4 and conclude on June 11, with matches scheduled across six venues.

“For the upcoming season, the league will feature a single round-robin format, removing the Super League stage,” the BCB said in a press release, adding that the full fixture list will be announced in due course.

However, a relegation league will still be held in accordance with the competition’s regulations to determine which teams will be demoted to the First Division.

A total of 69 matches are scheduled for the season, including 66 matches in the league phase and three in the relegation round.

Earlier, 135 cricketers were enlisted across 12 clubs during a two-day players’ transfer window held on April 18 and 19.

This year’s transfer window carried added significance amid earlier uncertainty surrounding the league, following a boycott threat from several clubs that questioned the legitimacy of the Aminul Islam-led board. The situation eased after the formation of an ad hoc committee headed by Tamim Iqbal, clearing the path for the league to proceed.

The 12 participating clubs are: Abahani Limited, Mohammedan Sporting Club, Gazi Group Cricketers, Legends of Rupganj, Gulshan Cricket Club, Agrani Bank Cricket Club, Prime Bank Cricket Club, Bashundhara Strikers, Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club, Brothers Union Limited, City Club, and Dhaka Leopards.
