Dhanmondi Cricket Club's Sobuj Ali recorded a rare feat when he hit six sixes in an over against Narayanganj Cricket Academy in the ongoing Third-Division Cricket League at the City Club Ground in Mirpur today.

Saobuj's six-ball 36 with the bat and two wickets with the ball gave his side a 67-run victory. The right-handed batter only came to bat in the final over of the innings as the ninth batter with the score on 240 for six. His knock propelled Dhanmondi to 276 and his side bowled aptly to restrict Narayanganj to 210 for eight.

The first delivery of the 50th over produced a wicket as batter A.K Shakil was caught behind off right-arm pacer Easin Arafat. Sobuj proceeded to hit the first delivery for six over long-off before dispatching the next two over wide long-on.

The fifth delivery of the over went for six over deep mid-wicket and then Easin bowled a no-ball that was also taken for a maximum, this time over cover. The free hit from the resulting no-ball produced the sixth maximum of the over as Sobuj hit it over extra cover to remain unbeaten on 36.

The over, including the no-ball produced 37 runs as Dhanmondi reached 277 runs for seven wickets. In 2009, Naeem Islam hit six sixes during a Dhaka Premier League game for Gazi tank against Mohammedan Limited.

Abu Taihan of Dhanmondi, however, took home the Player of the Match award for his 128-ball 102.
