Fed Cup final at Kings Arena on May 19

Star Sports Report

The final of the Federation Cup will be held at the Bashundhara Kings Arena, while Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla will host both the eliminator and qualifier matches, scheduled for May 5 and May 12 respectively. The final is set to take place on May 19.

The decision was taken through a lottery during a meeting of the Professional League Management Committee (PLMC) of the Bangladesh Football Federation on Monday.

The meeting also decided to open the transfer window for the 2026–27 season from June 1, despite the current season’s calendar not being fully completed -- unlike previous years.

According to the schedule, the league committee had planned to stage four competitions this season -- the Bangladesh Football League, Federation Cup, Independence Cup, and Super Cup. However, none of these tournaments have been fully completed yet, with the ongoing league set to conclude on May 23, just four days after the Federation Cup final.

With the transfer window opening on June 1, there will be limited time left to organise the Independence Cup or the Super Cup.

Despite this, the committee expressed hope of staging at least the Independence Cup, although the national team is scheduled to play an international friendly against San Marino on June 5.

PLMC vice-chairman Zakir Hossain Chowdhury said that the proposed 2026–27 season calendar will be placed before the BFF executive committee on April 19 for final approval, after which the full schedule for the next season will be announced.
