Sensational Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha made his debut with Chilean side Colo-Colo on Wednesday, keeping a clean sheet in the Chilean club’s 3-0 Copa Chile win over Union Espanola at Santiago’s National Stadium.

The 40-year-old was warmly received by the home supporters, earning an ovation as he helped Colo-Colo to a comfortable win.

His debut comes just weeks after he became one of the breakout figures of the 2026 World Cup in North America.
Vozinha played a starring role as Cape Verde reached the knockout stage on their tournament debut, helping them hold eventual champions Spain and two-time world champions Uruguay to draws before a narrow last-32 defeat by Argentina.

His heroics against Spain turned him into a social-media sensation, with his Instagram following reportedly surging from around 50,000 to more than 17 million.
Vozinha, who was previously with Portuguese second-tier club Chaves, has also played in Angola, Cyprus, Moldova and Slovakia.
