Bangladesh women off to flying start in beach kabaddi

Bangladesh women’s kabaddi team got off to a winning start in the Asian Beach Games, registering an easy 51-34 victory over Thailand in their opening match in Sanya, China today.

Placed in Group B alongside Thailand, Chinese Taipei and Nepal, Bangladesh dominated the first half, taking a comfortable 26-16 lead as the women in red and green impressed with their skills in both raids and defence.

After the break, Bangladesh maintained their dominance to seal a 17-point win, gaining confidence ahead of their crucial match against Nepal on Friday.

Bangladesh will play their final group match against Chinese Taipei on Saturday, with the top two teams advancing to the semifinals. Group A consists of India, Sri Lanka and Syria.
