The Tale of a Cat and her Kittens

A few days back, my family had experienced a strange incident. We found a mother cat with her kitten under our dining table. As our family did not own any pets, and as we were not quite fond of cats, I took the cat and her kittens and left them out of the house. However, we found the mother cat running out from underneath our couch some days later. As we were eager to rid our house from the invasion of the cat family, we searched for the cat and her kittens, and were finally able to find the kittens. This time, we threw them far away from the house. That very night, the mother cat arrived at our house, mewing loudly, crying for its kittens. We succeeded in scaring it away at that time, but it kept coming back to our house. It went on for at least a week, and we started to feel very sorry for the mother cat. In fact my grandfather even went to find the kittens, but alas they were not to be found anywhere. I have not seen the cat for quite a few days. We humans claim to be the most intelligent, the most advanced of all creatures, but what we forget to mention is that we are also the cruellest of all species.

Blurring Lines

A young boy, who works as a domestic help, plays football with us in our apartment complex. Unbeknownst to us, the manager of the complex was observing this scene for quite a while. One day, during one of our neighbourhood matches, the manager went to the boy and forbade him to play with us. The manager rudely told the boy that he was merely a help and shouldn't be playing with the 'richer' children. The boy picked up a fight with the manager, and left the place in anger. The next day he came to play with us as usual. When the manager saw him, he left the place without another word. When we asked the boy about what had happened, he told us that the manager had visited the house where he worked the previous night, and complained about the boy to his employer. The employer, surprisingly, lashed out against the manager, telling him firmly that the boy was like her son, and he had every right to play with other boys in the complex. Hearing this, the manager felt embarrassed and left the place in a hurry. I was really pleased to hear this. It proved that there is still humanity left in our society.
