This is the percentage of quota for admission into secondary schools that the government recently introduced. An Education ministry circular directed the government secondary schools to keep 40 percent school seats for students of the school zone and the rest of the seats will be open for all.  According to the guidelines on the ministry website, the executive board of secondary and higher education will prepare a catchment area for all public schools in Dhaka metropolitan area and inform it to the concerned authorities for the upcoming academic year.
