Delhi rushes more troops to Darjeeling

The Centre yesterday rushed 600 additional paramilitary personnel to Darjeeling to assist the administration and sought a detailed report from the West Bengal government. Local activists demanding the creation of a new Indian state warned that a general strike could degenerate into violence.
