“Friends”: Lesser known facts

It has been 12 years since the popular TV show “Friends” was last telecast. After running successfully for ten years, the show is still considered a timeless classic as it provides friendship goals to every one of all ages.

The storyline of the series showcases six friends and their shared friendship in the leap of ten years, while living in New York City. As the story develops, the group realises what it means to be friends, as they go through various experiences such as- family troubles, fights, laughs, tears, and surprises along with past and future lovers and spouses.

After running successfully for 10 years, the show has various titbits that are unknown to “Friends” fans, and on the occasion of Friendship Day, here are some lesser known facts of this massively successful TV show:  

Joey and Monica were supposed to be the main love interests in the show.

“The big white dog” in the show belonged to Jennifer Aniston.

David Schwimmer directed 10 episodes of “Friends”.

The director, Jim Burrows helped the cast to become friends by playing the piano.

Lisa Kudrow's pregnancy was the real reason behind the storyline of Phoebe becoming pregnant in the show.

The episode- “The one with the poker” was inspired by the cast playing poker to connect with each other.

 The orange couch in Central Perk was found in the basement of Warner Bros. Studio.

The cast watched the show together during the first year air of the show and gave each other helpful notes.
