After being closed for several months due to the ongoing pandemic, Dwip Gallery reopens in February this year with new exhibitions and other events. Prominent poet and painter Shamset Tabrejee’s second solo exhibition, “Random Vignettes”, curated by Mustafa Zaman, will be held at the gallery from February 12 to 26.

“Prem Puran”, a short film directed by young filmmaker Zahid Gogon, is set to release tomorrow on the OTT platform Lagvelki. It is inspired by “The Gift of The Magi” by O' Henry, “Raincoat” by Rituparno Ghosh, “Bhanga Chora” by Zahir Raihan and some true stories of jute mill worker leader Shahid Tajul Islam, who demanded justice for workers in our country. The story is set in Dhaka, Pabna and Kushtia.

Directed by Rouzbeh Heydari, a new thriller film, ‘Neon Lights’, featuring Dana Abraham, Kim Coates, and Brenna Coates among others, is currently in the works. The official teaser trailer of the film was released a few months ago.

“Makeup”, a film directed by Anonno Mamun with Tariq Anam Khan, Ziaul Roshan and Nipa Ahmed Real in prominent roles, was previewed by the Bangladesh Film Censor Board recently. Subsequently, the board members decided to ban the film.
