Garment workers block Mohakhali-Banani road demanding salary

Workers of a garment factory today blocked Mohakhali-Banani road in Dhaka demanding payment of last month's salaries.

Over one hundred workers of "Apparels" took to the streets around 11:00am to press home their demand, said Rafiqul Islam, assistant commissioner (Gulshan zone) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

The agitating workers demonstrated there for one and a half hours, disrupting vehicular movement on the road, he said.

The AC said the workers withdrew their agitation after being assured of the payment by Thursday.
