Hasanul A Hasan takes AIUB chair

Hasanul A Hasan, founder member of the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), has assumed office as chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, while founder member Ishtiaque Abedin has begun his tenure as vice-chairman.

The appointments were made at the 202nd meeting of the Board of Trustees held recently, according to a press release.

As founder members of AIUB, Hasanul A Hasan and Ishtiaque Abedin have played significant roles in the university’s institutional development, strengthening the quality of education and research, and implementing its long-term strategic plans.

Hasanul A Hasan is a businessman and educationist. He serves as chairman of Chemlube Limited, the sole distributor of MAK Lubricants in Bangladesh. He is also the managing director of American Dairy Limited (ADL) and chairman of Subaru Bangladesh Limited.

Ishtiaque Abedin, founder member and vice chairman of AIUB, is also a businessman and educationist. He currently serves as secretary general of the Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh (APUB) and has been actively contributing to the development of higher education in Bangladesh.

Alongside his role on the AIUB Board of Trustees, Ishtiaque Abedin serves as chairman of American Dairy Limited and managing director of Chemlube Limited, Shanzaib Limited and Shanzaib Food & Beverage Limited.

The members of the AIUB Board of Trustees, faculty members, officials, employees and the wider university community congratulated the newly appointed chairman and vice chairman and wished them continued success in their respective leadership roles.
