China to invite Hasina to 'One Belt, One Road' forum

China will invite leaders from Asian countries, including Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, to a Forum on "One Belt, One Road" initiative to be held in the East Asian country later this year.

Wang Jiarui, vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), disclosed this to a seven-member delegation of ruling-Awami League who called on him in Beijing yesterday.

Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Syed Ashraful Islam is leading the delegation, said a foreign ministry press release.

The Chinese leader stressed the need for further strengthening the relationship to promote pragmatic cooperation between the two countries.
