UN peacekeeping official due Sept 13

Atul Khare, an Under-Secretary General and Head of Department of Field Support of Peacekeeping Operations of the United Nations, will arrive in Dhaka on September 13 on a three-day official visit.

Diplomatic sources said Khare will meet senior government officials at the Armed Forces Division, ministries of defence and foreign affairs, and UN officials.

The government side will call for more representation from Bangladesh at the commanding, policy, and decision making levels of the UN peacekeeping, they said.
