7 idols vandalised

Police arrested two youths on charge of vandalising idols at a temple in Chanpur village of Baralekha upazila under the district on Tuesday night. The arrestees are Iqbal Ahmed, 25, and Farmuj Miah, 30, residents of Daserbazar in the upazila. In the morning, devotees came to the temple and found seven idols damaged, said Md Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Baralekha Police Station. A case was filed in this connection, said the OC.
