AG for coordination cell to stop militants’ bail

Star Online Report

Attorney General Mahbubey Alam today stressed need for formation of a coordination cell in order to take necessary steps to stop bail of suspects in cases related to militancy.

The coordination cell will preserve the particulars including the names and addresses of all the militant suspects, the attorney general said.

It will monitor whether they move bail petition before any court and will inform this to the office of the attorney general and public prosecutor, Alam said at a press briefing at his office at the Supreme Court premises.

If the offices of attorney general and public prosecutor are informed that the accused of militant cases are moving bail petitions, their offices will take necessary steps to stop the bail, he said.

Their offices will place strong arguments before the court against the bail petitions of the accused of the militancy cases.
