BSF detains 16 Bangladeshi youths while being trafficked to Nepal

Border Security Force (BSF) sent back 16 Bangladeshi youths, who were arrested in India while being trafficked to Nepal, through Hili immigration check post in Hakimpur upazila of the district on Tuesday.
They are Mehdi Hasan, Arif Hossain, Anwarul Islam, Suzon Chan Roy, Hafizul Islam, Ratan Das, Abdul Maleque, Palash Roy, Swapan Roy, Obaidul Islam, Akil Chandra Roy, Ujjal Chandra Roy, Alamgir Hossain, Zillur Rahman, Saddam Hossain and Badsha Alam.
They hail from different upazilas in Dinajpur.
Police said BSF men arrested the youths at Potiram village in Dakkhin Dinajpur under Pashchimbanga in India while they were entering the border area in Nepal illegally on Monday.
The arrestees said they entered India through Koya border in Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat district on Monday for going to Nepal.
They paid huge money to the broker with promise of getting lucrative jobs in Nepal, said the youths.
Major SB Singh of Potiram Battalion handed them to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at Hili immigration post yesterday evening.
BGB men later handed over the youths to police, said Abdur Razzak Tarafdar, commanding officer of BGB-3 Battalion
On August 1, detectives rescued 20 youths from two residential hotels in Joypurhat while they were being trafficked to Nepal and arrested an alleged human trafficker.
