10 films announced, how many will actually hit theatres this Eid?
Among the 10 films currently announced for release during Eid-ul-Azha are “Rockstar”, “Roid”, “Malik”, “Bonolota Sen”, “Masud Rana”, “Nakphuler Kabyo”, “Pinik”, “Tochhonchh”, “Officer”, and “The University of Chankharpul”. Each production house has officially declared an Eid release plan.
However, only a handful of the films have visible promotional campaigns so far. Whether all of them will ultimately make it to cinemas remains to be seen. Several teasers, songs and trailers have already been unveiled, building anticipation around the Eid line-up.

Rockstar
The Shakib Khan-starrer “Rockstar” is among the major Eid releases. Directed by Azman Rusho, the film has already released its song “Piriti” alongside two teasers. The second teaser introduced the film’s three leading ladies — Sabila Nur, Tangia Zaman Methila and Sunidhi Nayek.
The film’s animated teaser, official teaser, first song, second teaser and poster have all been released. “Rockstar” has already received clearance from the Certification Board—the released materials present Shakib Khan in a noticeably different avatar.

Roid
Audiences are also eagerly awaiting “Roid”, directed by “Hawa”-famed filmmaker Mejbaur Rahman Sumon. Alongside its trailer, three songs from the film — “Roid E Aila Ga Juraite”, “Mon Chhara Ki” and “Rohe Na” — have been released.
The story revolves around Sadhu and the struggles of his mentally unstable wife. The cast includes Mostafizur Noor Imran, Nazifa Tushi, Gazi Rakayet and Ahsabul Yamin Riad, among others.
The film first caught attention through its striking poster. Since then, the team has actively promoted the project through concerts and musical performances. This film already received clearance from the Certification Board.

Malik
Also slated for Eid release is “Malik”, starring Arifin Shuvoo and Bidya Sinha Mim. Directed by Saif Chandan, the film has already released two posters and an official trailer. The first poster and trailer showcased Shuvoo in an action-packed look, while the second poster highlighted a romantic side of the Shuvoo-Mim pairing.
The film has already secured censor clearance. “Malik” is an action drama centred on a stubborn man who rises within the criminal underworld while fighting to reclaim his mother’s honour and rights. Arifin Shuvoo plays the titular character, while Mim is expected to appear in a fresh new role.

Masud Rana
Saikat Nasir’s “Masud Rana” is also in the Eid race. The film stars Russell Rana, Puja Chery and Syeda Tithi Ommi. Its first poster, inspired by the classic Seba Prokashoni book covers, has already been unveiled, followed by a teaser titled “Masud Rana Reloaded”. The film is produced by Impress Telefilm and Jaaz Multimedia. The film already received clearance from the Certification Board.

Bonolota Sen
Director Masud Hasan Ujjal has announced “Bonolota Sen” for an Eid-ul-Azha release. The film was made with a government grant for the 2021–22 fiscal year.
Blending realism and symbolism, the film stars Masuma Rahman Nabila in the title role, while Khairul Basar portrays poet Jibanananda Das. The cast also includes Gazi Rakayet, Shohel Mondol, Naziba Basher, Priyontee Urbee, Maimuna Momo, Ruponty Akid and Sharif Siraj.
Recently cleared by the Certification Board, the teaser, trailer and first song, “Ekhane Keu Nei”, have already been released.
Nakphuler Kabyo
Romantic drama "Nakphuler Kabyo", starring Puja Chery and Ador Azad, tells a story of love and heartbreak. Directed by Aalok Hasan, the film received censor clearance long ago and has been awaiting release ever since. Production house Bengal Multimedia has now announced an Eid release.
Pinik
“Pinik”, starring Ador Azad and Shobnom Bubly, is another film aiming for Eid release. Directed by Zahid Jewel, the film previously released two posters and a trailer. Although the film had been scheduled for release several times before, it ultimately failed to reach theatres on those occasions.
Tochhonchh
Badiul Alam Khokon’s new film “Tochhonchh” is also among the announced Eid releases. The film pairs Bobby Haque with Munna Khan. The cast further includes Deepa Khandakar, Misha Sawdagor, Tanvir Tanu, Shiba Sanu, Subrata, Maruf Akib and Borda Mithu.
An official teaser and a song from the film have already been released.
Officer
“Officer”, starring Mahiya Mahi and D A Tayeb, has also announced an Eid release. The film is directed by Badiul Alam Khokon.

The University of Chankharpul
Joining the Eid release line-up is Akash Haque’s “The University of Chankharpul”. The cast includes Debdyuti Aich, Rocky Khan, Bobby Biswas, Akhtaruzzaman Azad, Abu Sayed, Ifad Hasan and Niloy Bala.
