Shakib Khan reunites with ‘Borbaad’ director for new film
Dhallywood megastar Shakib Khan is set to headline a new film under the banner of Real Energy Production. The actor officially signed on to the project on Thursday (July 2) evening, marking another collaboration with the team behind the film “Borbaad”.
Although the title of the film has yet to be announced, the project will reunite Shakib Khan with “Borbaad” director Mehedi Hassan and the production house that backed the hit film. However, the upcoming venture is not a sequel to “Borbaad”.
Following the signing ceremony, Shakib shared a photo on Facebook alongside the film's producers and director. Captioning the post, he wrote, “The ‘Borbaad’ team is returning. Let’s make history once again.”
The announcement quickly generated excitement among fans. Within an hour, the post had garnered more than 35,000 reactions and over 2,000 comments, with many expressing enthusiasm about the reunion.
According to the filmmakers, the untitled project will be an action entertainer. Further details, including the film's title, cast members and shooting schedule, will be announced by the production house at a later date.
Released last year, “Borbaad” starred Shakib Khan as Arian Mirza, with Indian actress Idhika Paul playing the female lead. The film was well received by audiences and became one of the most talked-about releases of the year.
In a recent interview, Shakib revealed that he had already heard the story of Mehedi Hassan's new film and was impressed by it. At the time, he hinted that an official announcement would be made soon. With Thursday's signing ceremony, that announcement has now become a reality.
Meanwhile, Shakib Khan is also preparing for the release of another highly anticipated film, “Soldier”, which is scheduled to hit theatres in October this year.
