Spotify unveils most-streamed artistes, songs and albums

Spotify has released its first-ever list of the most-streamed artistes, songs and albums in its history, marking the platform’s 20th anniversary.

The Sweden-based streaming giant, which holds over 31 percent of the global music streaming market, published top 20 rankings across multiple categories, including music, podcasts and audiobooks. However, it did not disclose specific streaming figures.

Among artistes, Taylor Swift secured the top spot as the most-streamed artiste of all time. She is followed by Bad Bunny, Drake, The Weeknd and Ariana Grande. Other notable names include Justin Bieber and Kanye West, while late rapper Juice WRLD ranked 20th.

In the songs category, “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd emerged as the most-streamed track of all time. It is followed by “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran and “Sweater Weather” by The Neighbourhood. The Weeknd appears again with “Starboy”, featuring Daft Punk.

In terms of albums, “Un Verano Sin Ti” by Bad Bunny ranked first, followed by “Starboy” and “÷ (Deluxe)”. “SOUR” by Olivia Rodrigo and “After Hours” complete the top five.

The Weeknd features prominently with three albums in the top 20, while Post Malone also has multiple entries. Albums by late rapper XXXTENTACION also appear on the list.

Beyond music, “The Joe Rogan Experience” was named the most-streamed podcast of all time, followed by “Gemischtes Hack”. True crime content dominated the category, accounting for nearly half of the top 20 podcasts.

In audiobooks, “A Court of Thorns and Roses” topped the list, with “The Fellowship of the Ring” ranking second. “The Woman in Me” also featured among the most-streamed titles.

The announcement offers a broad snapshot of listening trends over the platform’s two-decade history, highlighting the global reach and influence of streaming culture.
