Babita to receive lifetime achievement honour at Anandamela Awards in US
Veteran actor Babita is set to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Anandamela Awards 2026, scheduled to be held on July 25 and 26 in Los Angeles, United States.
Organised annually since 2017 by US-based charity organisation Anandamela, this year’s event will take place near the iconic Hollywood Sign. Founder and CEO Khan Mohammad Ali said the upcoming edition is expected to be more elaborate than previous years.
The award will be presented to Babita on July 26 by the Consul General of Bangladesh in Los Angeles. Expressing her gratitude, the celebrated actor said this would be the first time she is receiving a lifetime honour from a major expatriate Bangladeshi organisation in the US.
“I have received recognition from Bangladeshis during my visits to different states, but this honour from Anandamela is truly special,” she said, thanking the organisers for the recognition.
Khan Mohammad Ali described Babita’s acceptance as a significant moment for the organisation, adding that her presence has generated excitement among the Bangladeshi diaspora.
It is also notable that August 5 has been observed as “Babita Day” in North Texas since 2023. Earlier this year, Babita was awarded the Ekushey Padak for her contributions to the film industry.
