The Bangladeshi film “Domm” is continuing its strong run in North America, with screenings expanding to 58 theatres across the United States and Canada.

The film began its wider North American run yesterday (April 17), following growing audience demand. In the United States, “Domm” initially opened in seven theatres on April 10. Within its second week, the number of screenings increased to 50 theatres. From April 17, the film is being shown in 50 US theatres and eight theatres in Canada.

Directed by Redoan Rony, “Domm” stars Afran Nisho, Chanchal Chowdhury, and Puja Chery.

The film is distributed in North America by Bioskope Films. CEO Raj Hameed said the expansion is driven entirely by audience demand. He added that such rapid growth in theatre count is rare and reflects strong viewer interest.

Director Redoan Rony is currently in the United States for promotional activities. He has shared moments from screenings on social media, where members of the Bangladeshi diaspora and film personalities attended special shows. After screenings, he also took part in audience question-and-answer sessions.

Viewers have praised the film’s performances, visuals, and storytelling. Many described it as a powerful cinematic experience rather than just a film. Some audience members said “Domm” sets a new benchmark for Bangla cinema.

Rony said the film is inspired by a true story. He added that returning to direction with a story of national significance has been a meaningful experience for him. He also expressed gratitude for the response from audiences both in Bangladesh and abroad.

The film is produced by SVF Alpha-i and Chorki. Managing Director Shahriar Shakil said, “‘Domm’ was the biggest opener during Eid-ul-Fitr and continues to receive strong audience response.” He added that the film will be released in more countries gradually.

The film’s tagline is “Until the Last Breath”. The screenplay is written by Syed Ahmed Shawki, Al-Amin Hasan Nirjhar, Md Saifullah Riad, and Robiul Alam Robi.
