Audiences are loving Chitra: Sabila Nur
“Bonolota Express”, starring Sabila Nur, has been released this Eid and is already receiving a warm response from audiences. Directed by Tanim Noor, the film features Sabila Nur in the role of Chitra, a performance that has garnered widespread appreciation.
Speaking to The Daily Star earlier today, the actress shared her experience following the film’s release. She visited Bashundhara Cineplex and SKS Cineplex, where she interacted with moviegoers.
“It was a wonderful experience. During the interval, audience members spoke to me—they really enjoyed it,” she said.
Sabila Nur noted that the audience response has been overwhelmingly positive. “Before the interval, I saw smiles on their faces, and after the interval, many became emotional. I was able to witness firsthand how much they enjoyed the film,” she added.
According to the actress, many viewers described “Bonolota Express” as a film suited for watching with family and friends. “Hearing such feedback has truly impressed me and brought me a lot of joy,” she said.
Reflecting on her character Chitra, Sabila Nur shared that audiences felt the on-screen portrayal matched their expectations. “They told me Chitra appeared just as they had imagined. I would give credit for that to the entire team,” she said, adding that praise from both viewers and close acquaintances has made the journey worthwhile.
The film, based on a story by Humayun Ahmed, carried high expectations, which Sabila Nur believes have been met. “When the audience becomes emotional, I also get emotional,” she said.
Despite watching the film twice, the actress revealed she has yet to see it in full. “The first time, I entered after it had already started. The second time as well, I couldn’t finish it. I’m currently abroad and will watch it completely once I return,” she said.
She also praised her co-actors, highlighting the performances of Mosharraf Karim, Shamima Nazneen, and Sariful Razz. “Everyone has done a wonderful job—no one is any less,” she added.
Sabila Nur concluded by expressing gratitude for the audience’s support, calling their love “something truly special.”
