Falguni Hamid and M Hamid hospitalised with Covid-19

Noted actress Falguni Hamid and eminent theatre personality M Hamid were hospitalised after being diagnosed with Covid-19.

 The news was confirmed To the Daily Star by their daughter, renowned actress Tonima Hamid. "After my father was diagnosed with Covid-19 on December 29, we admitted him to the hospital as his health deteriorated," says Tonima.

"The next day my mother also tested positive and was admitted to the hospital." Tonima has asked for prayers for her parents' fast recovery.

Freedom fighter M Hamid is a dramatist, and the former Director General of Bangladesh Television. He has also served as the founding president of the theatrical group, Natyachakra.

Falguni Hamid is also a playwright, director and producer. She was the Director of Bangladesh Shishu Academy. She was also a journalist.

The couple tied the knot on December 24, 1978.
