Moutushi Biswas to feature in Proshoon Rahmaan’s ‘Dear Satyajit’

Noted actress, model, and anchor Moutushi Biswas is set to make her comeback on the silver screen after six years, with Proshoon Rahmaan's forthcoming feature "Dear Satyajit".

The film will feature prolific theatre, film, and television actor Ahmed Rubel in the lead role. The plot of this film underlies representing three filmmakers from three different generations.

Rubel will be portraying the role of an elderly filmmaker named Asif Mahmud, who is influenced by Satyajit Ray throughout his life. While, Moutushi will be seen as emerging filmmaker Aparajita, who plays as a narrator in the story.

Under the banner of Imation Creator, "Dear Satyajit" is a tribute film, marking the birth centenary of Ray. It is expected to have a special screening on Ray's birthday (May 2) next year. After that, the film will be released on an OTT platform.

After filming in various locations including Dhaka and Kishoreganj among other places, the team of "Dear Satyajit" has wrapped up its shoot. Post-production of the film is underway.

Moutushi informs that some of the shooting was filmed in Upendra Kishore Ray's house. "It was an amazing experience; the remains of the house where we shot are still here. The audience will be able to feel the presence of Satyajit Ray in the project," she asserts.

Moutushi made her debut in films with Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's "Bachelor".  She also featured in Meher Afroz Shaon directorial "Krishnopokkho", based on noted author Humayun Ahmed's novel of the same name, six years ago.

The actress has become selective about her works. "We are lacking good stories in television, which I don't want to be a part of," says the actress. The actor also shared that she wants to give more time to cinema, upon finding challenging roles.
