‘Sisimpur’ to compete at Int’l Kidscreen Awards
Popular children's puppet show "Sisimpur", a Bangladeshi adaptation of Sesame Street (Sesame Workshop Bangladesh, Ddhoni Chitra), has been nominated at the prestigious International Kidscreen Awards in the 'Best Mixed Media Series' category, along with two other internationally popular programmes, "Alien TV" (Entertainment One, POP Family Entertainment, Netflix, Nine Network) and "Club Mundo Kids" (Exile Content Studio).
Learning through playing, helping others and building empathy are emphasised on "Sisimpur", which is crucial for child development. Each episode of their 13th season sheds light on science, environment, and literacy among other topics.
"Kidscreen Awards is a prestigious platform for the children's programmes worldwide. I believe this is a matter of great pride for us which will encourage our future projects," said Mohammad Shah Alam, Executive Director of "Sisimpur".
"Sisimpur" was also honoured as the best child friendly programme in a survey conducted by BBC World Service Trust in 2010 and was nominated as the third best popular programme in overall categories.
Since 2005, "Sisimpur" has been working under the pre-primary child development programme with the goal, 'Let children be more complete, stronger and more kind in all areas'. Different ministries of the government are supporting the implementation of various programmes, including broadcasting.
Winners of the International Kidscreen Awards 2022 will be announced in February.
