Promotions are polite way of begging, says Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt has been going all out with her co-star Varun Dhawan to spread the right buzz for their forthcoming movie 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania'. The actress equates promotions to a "polite way of begging". On publicity for 'Humpty...', she said, “It`s not easy to go on stage and sing in front of large crowds. But I guess it`s important to have fun while promoting a film. But by the end of the day, your mind starts playing tricks on you as you are tired going from one event to another. "Humpty..." is relatable to the young. So, Varun and I have to go all-out to reach out. Promoting a film should be a time to go all-out. Even those who don`t have an interest in the film should want to see the film by the time we are done. Promotions are a very polite way of begging.”

Ridley Scott's retelling of the Moses story “Exodus: Gods and Kings”, starring Christian Bale, Aaron Paul, Sigourney Weaver and John Tuturro is set to arrive in theaters in December 2014. Ridley Scott, the veteran director, claims this will be his biggest epic ever, “Well, in terms of the metaphorical aspects, yes [this is the biggest project I've done]. Even budget-wise, it's probably the biggest, yeah. But I didn't approach it as my biggest. I never do that. I always approach it from the point of view of the characters, of the story. I never realised Gladiator was going to be quite as large in terms of its scope and yet it was a very small, personal story. A revenge. A simple revenge into which we had jigsawed some characters.”
