Dhaka wakes up to run towards a healthier tomorrow
The North South University Public Health and Sciences Club (NSU PHSC), in collaboration with Run Bangladesh, organised a 5K awareness run on July 10 as a curtain-raiser for United Healthcare presents Health Fest 2026, which will be held from July 14 to 16.
The event brought together students, faculty members, university staff and running enthusiasts from outside the campus, reflecting the festival’s aim of promoting healthier lifestyles through community participation.
The run commenced at 5:30am, with participants setting off from Bashundhara Residential Area and finishing at United Medical College Hospital. Beyond promoting physical activity, the event sought to raise awareness about the upcoming Health Fest and encourage wider public engagement in its programmes.
The 5K run, alongside a pre-event yoga and wellness session, forms part of the festival’s awareness campaign. Health Fest 2026 is a three-day national-level event featuring seminars, poster presentations, case study and quiz competitions, health awareness activities and an alumni gala dinner.
The fest will be organised by the Department of Public Health and the North South University Public Health and Sciences Club under the theme “Together for a Healthier Tomorrow.”
