BIDYA SINHA MIM

How did you come to modeling and acting?
Basically, I began with Lux Channel i Superstar in 2007. Following winning the crest of beauty, I received proposals from different producers and directors to work with them. I started with modeling though.
You are seen modeling and acting at the same time. Which do you prefer?
Actually, modeling and acting in movies is quite different from each other. I think modeling represents me directly in television productions but on the other hand acting in the movies represents a particular character. I need to imbibe the character in me and work hard in order to express it in optimum level. It's hard to say which area I prefer the most but I think I like both the areas differently. I can't find any similarities between the two.
Do you want to establish yourself as an actress in the future?
As I said earlier, I work in the movies along with my modeling. I will work on movies and television productions simultaneously.
What inspires you in your acting?
In acting, I look for inspiration in the script. The script is very important to me. Good scripts or interesting stories inspire me in my acting. I try to work on selective stories and scripts so that I can improve my acting in later works.
How do you see our media industry from past to present? Can you mention some positive changes we have achieved so far?
There is a shift in our movie industry at present. People working here are producing some good movies and television productions, I would say. The storyline, scripts and artists have changed over time. I hope if the trend continues, we will be able to produce good movies. Recently, I have worked in the movie named 'Tarkata' with Mostofa Kamal Raj. I enjoyed the story and characters of that movie. I think it is a part of our continuous sign of improvement.
How did you learn to act?
I learned acting personally. I watch a lot of movies and television shows to improve my acting. Besides, I learn from my co-workers and acquaintances. When I was in Jahangirnagar University, I was in touch with acting. That helped me a lot. Overall, I was self-motivated to learn to act.

Did you ever think of improving any certain areas of your acting?
See, I am not perfect in acting, nobody can ever be. It happens to me that I see my works in the screen and I think that I could do better in specific points and expression. This sense inspires me a lot in my later works. I never think that I am perfect; I am working everyday to improve my acting.
Do you struggle to visualize any character expected of you?
Not really, I try my best to express a certain character expected of me. I follow the direction and work hard to visualize what or how the character would be. However, working in a fixed time frame or being rushed often hampers my concentration.
Who are your favorite actors and actress?
I watch a lot of movies and television shows starting from Hollywood to Bollywood or even of our country. The list of favorites changes very often for me. However, I like Angelina Jolie from Hollywood and Madhuri Dixit, Kajol Devgan, Sonom Kapoor, and Dipika Padukon from Bollywood. I like Shuborna Mustafa and Jaya Ahsan a lot too.
What are your favorite movies of recent times?
I can't name any specific movies. I like different types of movies depending on my mood. I like romantic movies or adventure movies. Sometimes I watch movies at a stretch for five or six hours. The other day, I was watching 'Raanjhanaa' and I liked it much. Besides, 'Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela' was entertaining as well.
Where do you see yourself ten years from now?
I would like to carry on my acting, that's it. Truly speaking, planning never works for me. I aspired being a doctor in my early age but came out to be an actress. Therefore, nothing is planned for me. I just love acting now and will go on with it.
Can you mention five things you like and five things you don't like about yourself?
Ummm, I am very honest; I never tell lies; I help others, I believe people a lot and I like reading. Actually it's tough to identify five things specifically. Five things that I don't like are- I like people a lot; I can't wake up in time from sleep; I don't know the geographic locations, I forget many things; and I get angry suddenly!
