A celebration of Bangladesh’s ceramic craft
An exquisite high tea event, beautifully complemented by a showcase of ceramicware, was masterfully curated by Kagojer Ghor Studios. This gathering was much more than just a display of aesthetically pleasing tableware; it served as an insightful exploration into the diverse and dynamic world of Bangladesh’s ceramic industry.
The event featured an impressive array of ceramic pieces meticulously crafted in Bangladesh, each inspired by the intricate design characteristic of French, European, and Victorian styles. The collection was a feast for the eyes, showcasing intricate motifs and intricate detailing that imbued each piece with a timeless quality.
Mashrufa Bashar, the owner of Kagojer Ghor Studios, spoke about how the business was a gift from her father, which grew into a personal passion and creative legacy of her own. She also highlighted what sets her pieces apart: rather than producing on a mass scale, each design is made in limited quantities, giving the collections an exclusive, boutique character and turning each piece into a luxurious object that feels personal and rare.
While the items boasted a classic charm, they also resonated with the unique identity and artistry of Bangladeshi craftsmanship, celebrating the skill and creativity of local artisans. The collection also extended beyond crockery, featuring handcrafted decoupage pieces that showcase the same attention to detail and artistic finesse.
Guests savoured an array of delicate treats and savoury bites throughout the event, each prepared to foster a sense of community around the shared experience of exquisite cuisine and artistry. The table setting was arranged with sophisticated attention to detail, enhancing the presentation of the showcased products and allowing attendees to fully appreciate the pieces in an environment reminiscent of their intended use.
With a blend of relaxed elegance and refined decorum, the atmosphere provided guests with a unique opportunity to appreciate the craftsmanship and artistic vision that define each collection. Set against the backdrop of a traditional high tea setting, the showcased pieces transcended their utility, transforming everyday tableware into stunning works of art.
This event not only illuminated the beauty of the ceramics on display but also offered a profound glimpse into the versatility and potential of the ceramic industry in our country, where local skill continually converges with the elegance of foreign vintage aesthetics.
