Vendor murdered
A gang of miscreants severed off the hands of a vegetable vendor leaving him dead at Digubabur Bazar in Narayanganj city early yesterday.
The deceased is Abul Kalam, 52, son of late Kamar Ali Sarkar of Madanganj Shantinagar area in Bandar upazila.
Manjur Kader, officer-in-charge of Sadar Model Police Station, said the criminals hacked Kalam with a sharp weapon around 12:00am.
Locals took Kalam, who also sustained injuries in the head, to 200-bed Narayanganj Hospital in Khanpur where the doctors declared him dead.
Rafiqul Islam, brother of the victim, said the gang of miscreants first hit his brother with a glass bottle from behind.
