The High Court on Monday asked Maksudur Rahman, a forensic doctor at Sir Salimullah Medical College, who conducted autopsy on Bishwajit Das's body, to appear before it today to explain the post mortem report. The court passed the order after receiving the post mortem and inquest reports on his killing from police. The autopsy report, as quoted by the HC sources, says Bishwajit had suffered a 3.5 inch long and 1.5 inch deep stab injury. The 24-year-old tailor was beaten and hacked to death by a group of Bangladesh Chhatra League activists of Jagannath University in Old Dhaka on December 9 last year. Some unidentified people were sued for the killing. The HC bench of Justice AHM Shamsuddin Choudhury Manik and Justice Mahmudul Hoque also summoned today Sub-inspector of Sutrapur Police Station Zahidul Haque, who conducted the inquest into the murder. In addition, the bench directed private television channel ATN News and police to supply to the court with the video footage of Bishwajit's killing by today. Following a petition filed by Supreme Court lawyer Eunus Ali Akond, the HC on December 11 last year ordered arrest of the killers immediately and issued a rule upon the government to explain why they should not be directed to give adequate compensation to the family.
