16th National Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competition held
A daylong mental math competition has been held in Dhaka.
Aloha Bangladesh organised the 16th National Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competition 2024 at Bashundhara International Convention City (ICCB) in the capital on Friday.
At least 2,700 children from over 600 schools participated in the event.
The objective of this competition is to test the speed and accuracy of the children in solving arithmetic problems.
In five minutes, the participants are supposed to solve 70 complex sums.
Majority of the students solved the problems with 100 percent accuracy within the due time.
Loh Mun Sung, founder of Aloha Mental Arithmetic, inaugurated the event as chief guest.
The chief guest, special guest Kiran Matwani, international director of Aloha, and Guoliang Zhou, founder of GL Art China, handed over awards after the event.
Md Ali Haider Chowdhury, managing director of Aloha Bangladesh, gave the welcome speech.
Selected winners would get a chance to participate in Aloha International Competition 2024 at Madrid, Spain.
