Buet launches programming course for freshers

Star Digital Report

An initiative was launched at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) for the incoming 2022 batch to make programming more accessible.

Prior to the commencement of regular classes, Buet introduced virtual classes on HSC ICT C Programming using the HSC ICT Online System (https://hscict.org/) developed at eSRD-Lab, supported by ICT Division Innovation Grant.

This initiative aims to bridge the gap between programming proficiency at the HSC level and the requirement for engineering education.

The virtual classes, conducted by Faculty members of computer science and engineering (CSE) department, were held from August 17 to September 3.

The closing certificate ceremony was held on September 10 virtually, where Buet Vice-Chancellor Prof Satya Prasad Majumdar was present as chief guest.

A total of 1,147 students participated in the two-week courses.
