The International Crimes Tribunal-1 (ICT-1) today framed charges against former prime minister’s adviser Salman F Rahman and ex-law minister Anisul Huq in a crimes against humanity case linked to the July 2024 uprising.

The three-member tribunal, led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, framed the charges after rejecting discharge petitions filed by the defence.

Tribunal member Shofiul Alam Mahmood read out five charges and asked the accused whether they pleaded guilty.

Standing in the dock, both Salman F Rahman and Anisul Huq pleaded not guilty and sought justice from the tribunal.

While framing the charges, the tribunal said that it found sufficient grounds to proceed against the accused after examining the formal charge.

The tribunal fixed February 10 for opening statements and the recording of depositions of prosecution witnesses.
