Rumeen Farhana leading in Brahmanbaria-2

Independent candidate Rumeen Farhana is leading in Brahmanbaria-2 (Sarail, Ashuganj and parts of Bijoynagar).

As of 10:00pm, results from 45 out of 151 polling centres have been announced.

Rumeen, an independent candidate, contesting with the "duck" symbol, secured 34,460 votes.

Her nearest rival, BNP alliance candidate Maulana Junayed Al Habib, vice-president of Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam Bangladesh’s central committee , contesting with the “date palm tree” symbol, received 23,226 votes.

Eight candidates are actively contesting the election from this constituency.

According to the returning officer, voter turnout in the seat stood at 44.8 percent.
