SOUND TREK

SOUND TREK

By S.M. Intisab Shahriyar

What happens when you put great music along with breathtaking destinations across a very diverse country? A phenomenon is born! Sound Trek combines this very formula to create a one-of-a-kind cross-country journey, which merges two different music genres into a cohesive sound that works for viewers of all ages. The brand new music based travel show by Fox Traveller brings alive some unique jugalbandi's like fusion of rock with Sufi, electronic with Indian tribal folk and soul with choral.

The show features musical geniuses like Lucky Ali, Advaita, Parikrama, Midival Punditz, Ranjit Barot, Hari & Sukhmani, Avial, Indus Creed, Soulmate to name a few. The musicians travel to popular Indian destinations like Ladhakh, Goa, Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Auroville, Kerala, Shillong, Calcutta, Varanasi, Kalimpong, Maheshwar, Srinagar, Orcha and Udaipur in their quest to seek the best local talent for the biggest jam session of their lifetime. And to take this journey one step ahead, it covers some amazing destinations around the country including Leh, Auroville, Srinagar, Calcutta, Udaipur and Shillong. This already sounds interesting. The main aim of this show is to create collaborations with the best local musicians in each place.

Some of you might ask whether it will be any different from the popular show The Dewarists as this show also focuses on music, travel and collaborations. The main difference between the two: The Dewarists had Indian indie acts travelling to a city or town to compose a new song together, Sound Trek has an Indian indie act travelling to a city or town to remake their own track with local musicians or, in the producers' words, creating “a brand new take on a much-loved song”.

The show has some great jamming sessions in store for the viewers, wherein two distinct artists collaborate to create sheer musical masterpiece. Complete with eclectic music, global artists and best destinations that India has to offer, Sound Trek promises to be a visual and melodious treat for music and travel buffs alike.
